1810. A young African woman is placed on display in a “freak show” in England because of her large posterior. Raw and uncompromising, Parks’ play encourages the audience to look at the objectification of people and cultures as well as the human fascination with things “foreign” and our tendencies to judge on appearance rather than substance. It is a theatrical experience you won’t soon forget.
