Spring 2022 Productions

The Laramie Project

Directed by Peter Mohrmann

Location: Upload recorded monologue using the audition form.

Date: Recorded audition must be submitted by January 21st.
OR Attend the live auditions on Jan. 19 or 20. You need only do one or the other.

Performances: Thursday - Sunday, Mar. 3 - 13.

Auditions Auditions will consist of recorded monologues.

Audition Requirements:

MORE AUDITIONS on Zoom for City Theatre’s THE LARAMIE PROJECT will be held at 7pm on Monday, January 24th and Tuesday, January 25th. To receive a Zoom link, complete the Google audition form linked on the Audition page at CityTheatre.net. We can provide a monologue for the audition. Rehearsals will begin late January with performances March 3-13. Production and audition information, including the link to the audition form, can be found at https://citytheatre.net/auditions.php.

Rehearsal will begin on January 24th, 2022.

Production Requirements

All participants (actors and crew) will be required to:

  • Register for our performance class ($46.00 per unit.)
  • Rehearsals and performances will be live and in person.
  • Provide evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 or have Los Rios exemption.
  • Follow all COVID-19 and safety protocols as set down by City Theatre and Sacramento City College.

As of October 1, 2021, Sacramento City College requires evidence of a first COVID-19 vaccine dose for all students who access district and college facilities (including in-person classes or student support services) and all employees. This will also apply to all actors who are cast in the production by the first rehearsal on January 24, 2022, as well as crew and production members.

Consistent with all applicable laws, Sacramento City College will grant limited exemptions for eligible documented medical conditions as well as narrowly defined and sincerely held religious beliefs. Masks are required for all students, faculty, and staff in any indoor space in Los Rios, regardless of vaccination status

You do not have to divulge your vaccine status to anyone in the production, whether they are faculty, staff, or fellow students.

The Night Witches

Directed by Lori Ann DeLappe-Grondin

Location: Main Auditorium

Date: Jan. 31 at 7:00 pm on Zoom (link will follow after audition form is completed); in-person auditions on Sac City campus on Feb. 7 & 8 at 7:00 pm. Possible callbacks by invitation on Feb. 12 at 11:00 am.
Performances: Thursdays - Sundays, April 21 - May 7.

Auditions Auditions will consist of readings from the script and movement.

The Night Witches is created by female, female-presenting actors, and non-binary actors who are comfortable playing female characters. The ages of the characters are also flexible.

Roles available:

  • Tatyana: Captain
  • Vera: Recently trained to be a navigator, formerly worked as a mechanic
  • Nina: Also recently trained to be a navigator
  • Irina: Captain
  • Polina: Deputy commander
  • Serafima: Captain
  • Zoya: Commander
  • Raisa: Head mechanic
  • Alexandra: Navigator
  • Valentina: Pilot
  • Marta: Navigator
  • Ensemble: Chorus (multiple non-speaking roles)

Rehearsal will begin in Mar. 2022.
