In March 2020, City Theatre was in mid-performance run for “Mr. Burns, a Post-electric Play.” We all know what happened then. Now it is 2021, and we are going to complete that original run. We have nine returning members of the original eighteen person cast and crew and are looking for eight to nine new cast members.
“Mr. Burns, a Post-electric Play,” is an inspiring, funny, transformative, and strangely prescient play about the aftermath of a global disaster and the resilience of the survivors. Its three acts show the recovery several months, seven years, and seventy-five years after the disaster through the survivors’ collective memories of The Simpsons, and consequently the reemergence of theatre through storytelling, traveling comedy troupes and ritual.
Roles that are filled by returning members from our original production are: Jenny, Maria, Colleen, Gibson, Quincy, Bart, Mr. Burns, Lisa, Homer. There are plenty of wonderful roles available.
Auditions Auditions will consist of readings from the script, and a short singing audition. Sides, song audio file, and sheet music for the audition can be found here.
